Dr. Blake is a board certified adult psychiatrist who emigrated from South Africa in 1983 is now a US citizen. In addition to his medical training and a residency in Internal Medicine that was completed at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, Dr. Blake also completed a residency in psychiatry at UMDNJ/Rutgers Medical School in New Jersey where he served as chief resident. Dr. Blake has interest and experience in treating adolescent and young adults, addictions, personality disorders as well general adult psychiatry. He is very experienced in psychopharmacology and has training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, family systems therapy, cognitive and behavior therapy. As a supervisor in psychotherapy to resident psychiatrists at UMDNJ/ RWJ Medical School, Dr. Blake holds a position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. He is also an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Blake was the consulting psychiatrist for student health services at Princeton University for almost 15 yrs, served as a psychiatric consultant to a number of private high schools in the area and directed the Substance Abuse Services at Princeton Medical Center.
